Andrew offers private music instruction on both the electric bass and the drum set in the San Francisco Bay Area. Custom designed lesson plans for all ages and skill levels are available. Weekly half-hour lessons for beginners and one-hour lessons for intermediate and advanced players are recommended.
Every few months Andrew’s students participate in a recording process resulting in an album of their songs titled ‘Rhythms’. It is an excellent learning tool and is a lot of fun for all. RHYTHMS
Private Music LESSONS
The ELECTRIC BASS
The recent evolution of the electric bass, a relatively new instrument in the history of music, has made a huge impact on most forms of music. Bass players set the tone — they are the bridge between rhythm and melody. The bass is the rudder that steers the ship.
The DRUM SET
People have been banging on things since the dawn of time — for communication, direction and recreation. The modern drum set has become the cornerstone of much of today’s music. The drum set is the engine that drives the bus.
Tunes
- song structure
- transcriptions
- sight & chart reading
- common standards
Theory
